Company

Salucop Group, Inc. is a House of Brands registered in the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission. A family owned business, SGI has an array of products and services across industries, reflecting the company’s versatility and expertise.

Salucop Group’s first brand Basi del Diablo Wines and its variants Basi Maria, Basi Puro, Basidina, Virginia Blush, Ambaristo, and De la Bodega are based on a 1906 recipe passed down by Javier Salucop, the great grandfather of the group’s Chief Executive Officer and its Chief Finance Officer. While the recipe is old, the Salucop sisters only started bottling the wines in 2013.

While mulling over putting up a brick and mortar store for Basi del Diablo, the company decided to build the Wilfred’s brand, a specialty grocery store named after Wilfred Cuanang Salucop. According to SGI’s finance chief Sissel Salucop, “We figured that selling just the wines won’t be cost effective as Basi del Diablo only has seven sub-brands. We always like making full use of our spaces especially on land that has been in the family for over a century.”

The first store, located right on the Mangapit-Salucop property on Taft Street in Batac, Ilocos Norte, sells a range of food products from Europe, North America, South America, Asia, and Africa.

In 2019, the Salucop sisters acquired JVM Rentals. A consultancy wing was integrated in 2023 and Wilfred’s started a wine distribution service for the Basi del Diablo brand and several European wine brands.
